Curriculum Standards

Learn more about "Get Set for School"

This year again, we are using the “Get Set for School” curriculum designed by “Learning Without Tears”. This award winning preschool curriculum is designed to ensure that all children can thrive and build a strong foundation for kindergarten. The program uses music and movement to engage children and help them develop good learning habits. Children learn actively as they play, color, draw, count, build and sing. The program enhances social-emotional skills builds physical coordination, recognition of letters and numbers and more.

GCC curriculum includes the CA Preschool Learning Foundation Domains as part of the weekly lesson plans. Please refer to the GCC Preschool Curriculum handout given at time of enrollment (see Director for extra copies).  Teachers develop weekly lesson plans tailored for each class and include “Learning Without Tears” curriculum appropriate for 3-6 year olds. Pre-K children participate in weekly Spanish classes presented by teacher Mickey from “Language Book”. Classroom curriculum and Chapel time also support an understanding of the weekly Bible verse and applications of the biblical lessons to our daily life.
