At Geneva Children's Center, we are proud of our staff, all of whom are uniquely qualified educationally, come to us with years of experience and are mature Christians. Perhaps most importantly, they see teaching young children as not just a job, but as a calling. We are blessed to have each an every one of them as part of the GCC family.
We are blessed to have Sherry Hoselton at the helm of Geneva Children’s Center. Along with her formal education in Early Childhood Development, Sherry is a lifelong Christian who has over 30 years experience working with preschool children. As both a mother and grandmother, she also has the wisdom and warmth to create a safe and loving environment for your child.
Mrs. Kathy received her A.S. degree in Chicago. She continued her education with an ECE certificate from Saddleback College, achieved a B.A. and teaching credential from Concordia University and has completed her Masters in education. Mrs. Kathy was recently a director at a private preschool but enjoys being in the classroom with the children. "I'm fortunate to be here with such professional teachers and loving staff."
Mrs. Luisa comes to us with several years of experience working with toddlers and preschool age children. She has an Associate degree in Child Development and is working on a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education and Adolescence. Luisa also has her Master Teacher Permit.
Older 2's & young 3's
Mrs. Stephanie attended Saddleback College and Irvine Valley College where she earned her Early Childhood units. She worked in preschools before starting her family. She has worked with MOPS in the children’s program and teacher’s Aid in a Kindergarten classroom. Stephanie’s loves her little ones and is so kind and patient with the children as they begin their new experiences here at GCC. “I enjoy all the children, but the little ones are so loveable and soak up everything you teach them.”
Teacher - Room 1
Lillian Ferguson is our extended day expert! She works every afternoon, making each child feel cared for and cozy as they drift peacefully off to sleep in room 4. Mrs. Lilly earned her degree from Bay Path College and had a number of credits toward her BA. She's been a MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) teacher at several churches. Mrs. Lilly is married with two grown children.
"Three-year-olds are exciting to lead," gushes Teri Sterling, "They are eager to grasp new ideas and make learning fun!" Mrs. Sterling should know, having taught preschool for 18 years. She earned her AS degree in Child Development, is certified in Early Childhood Development and a California Child Development teachers permit. Mrs. Sterling is married and has three children and soon to be six grandchildren.
Mrs. Benson has taught preschool for several years. She earned her AS degree in Early Childhood Education and holds a Master Teacher Permit. “I look forward to learning and having fun each day with the children. They are truly gifts from God.”
Ms. Martha serves GCC in the afternoons as an Extended Day Teacher and helps out with breaks and office assistance. She attended Long Beach City College and UCLA. She earned her AA degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Martha taught infants and preschool children for over 10 years and held a Director position for several years. “I really love to work with children and watch them develop and grow.”
We are blessed to have Mrs. Felton as part of our summer and afternoon staff. She received her BA in Education from Eastern Kentucky University. Although she began her career as a Middle School teachers, she's taught preschool for the past 26 years. “ Each child is a precious gift from God. I thank you for entrusting your children with us. I love to work with preschoolers and to watch them grow. I want to let each child explore and develop to the best of my ability.”
Mrs. Amy received her AA degree with an Early Childhood Certificate from Saddleback College. She taught a "young two's" class before becoming an Assistant Director and then a Director for a local preschool company. For several years Mrs. Amy ran her own in-home day care before joining the staff here at GCC. “I love my 3’s class and am excited to be a part of their development in a Faith-based program.”
For the last 28 years Mrs. Clements has worked at a local preschool where she continues to assist in the classrooms in the morning before coming to GCC. We are thrilled that she then comes over the share her afternoons with us! She has two children, six grandchildren and is an avid baseball fan always cheering on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Mrs. Nancy attended Santa Ana College where she studied Child Development. She retired from the Insurance Industry as an Administrative Assistant. She joined the GCC staff in January 2018 and loves working with the children, families and staff.
Roni joined the GCC staff in May and is currently working toward her BS degree in Child and Adolescence studies at Cal State Fullerton. She has been a member of Geneva Presbyterian church over 14 years where she has taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and worked as a camp counselor. We love Miss Roni's enthusiasm and obvious love for the children around her.
